The National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program is offering up to $68,000,000 in funding that supports the recruitment, preparation, and retention of highly effective K-12 STEM teachers and teacher leaders in high-need school districts. This program offers four distinct avenues that applicants can choose from:

• Track 1: The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarships and Stipends (S&S) Track
• Track 2: The NSF Teaching Fellowships (TF) Track
• Track 3: The NSF Master Teaching Fellowships (MTF) Track
• Track 4: The Noyce Research Track

Be aware that proposals related to capacity building are accepted with the intention of developing a proposal in any of the program’s tracks. In addition, conference proposals focused on improving STEM teacher preparation and proposals supporting authentic Research Experiences in STEM Settings (RESS) are invited to apply. 

The deadline for the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program is August 17, 2024 by 5:00pm the submitting organization’s local time. Cost matching is not required. 

Eligible Applicants

• U.S. nonprofits offering a teacher education/residency program (i.e. research museums, nonprofit research institutions)
• One or more accredited U.S. Institutions of Higher Education (or a consortia of such institutions)
• Professional societies or similar organizations directly associated with educational or research activities (for track four only)

Applicants must pay special attention to the primary investigator (PI) requirements for each track. While Capacity Building does not hold any PI restrictions, Tracks 1-3 require one education faculty member from the education department or equivalent at a participating or partnering institution of higher education and at least one faculty member with a current degree in science, mathematics, engineering, or technology. Track 4 requires at least one individual with an advanced degree in a STEM discipline and an individual with expertise and experience in STEM education research.
