Video: How the GSA Program Works

Written by USFCR | Feb 4, 2020 8:40:00 PM

USFCR's GSA Program was created to streamline the application process for a GSA schedule. This makes getting onto a schedule both relatively fast and simple. Unlike our competitors, USFCR uses a pay-as-completed model to ensure our service is cost-effective for your business. Learn more about how it works in the video below.

Registration in the System for Award Management

To qualify for a GSA schedule, along with other federal contracts, a business must first register in the System for Award Management (SAM). Since its implementation in 2012, USFCR has assisted with over 300,000 compliant SAM registrations.

USFCR SAM clients will also get prequalified for small business set-asides. This includes veteran-owned (SD/VOSB), women-owned (ED/WOSB), historically underutilized business zones (HUBZone), and the 8(a) Business Development Program.

Small business set-asides provide an advantage in federal contracting in two ways. The first is that there are opportunities in which only certain types of small businesses are allowed to bid on. This greatly reduces the pool of competition for a contract.

The other way that small business set-asides give an advantage to small businesses is through incentives. Federal agencies have a quota for different set-asides that they need to reach per year. In some larger contracts, prime contractors are required to hire small businesses.
