Turn Key Services of Louisiana, LLC -- a minority-owned small business based in Donaldsonville, Louisiana -- announced this week that it received a contract worth $18,240 from the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
The contract calls for the company to supply limestone to the Louisiana State Penitentiary through June 30, 2016.

The award comes just about three months after the company completed its System for Award Management (SAM) Registration with US Federal Contractor Registration, the world’s largest third-party government contracting firm.

Andrew Brewer, president of Turn Key Services of Louisiana, LLC, says that having the opportunity to bid on government contracts set-aside for minority-owned small businesses is something he would never have thought possible had he not hired US Federal Contractor Registration to help him become eligible to bid on government contracts.

“We didn’t know what we were doing until I started working with Marianne Swager of US Federal Contractor Registration,” Brewer said during a recent telephone interview. “She taught me how to put together an aggressive bid and also reviewed my bid before I submitted it.”

Turn Key Services of Louisiana, LLC, which Brewer opened in 2009, hauls debris for commercial and residential customers. Turn Key has experience hauling sand, debris, gravel, asphalt, millen, and non-hazardous waste.
Several of its clients, contacted separately, sing the company’s praises, with Mariet Allen of Mariel Holdings, LLC calling the company “dependable, trustworthy, and customer-oriented.”

Brewer said he had submitted two other bids for projects and continues to look for other opportunities for which he is qualified. His advice for other businesses interested in bidding on and receiving government contracts?
“Hire US Federal Contractor Registration to help you complete your SAM Registration,” said Brewer. “That’s really the first and best step you can take to become a successful government contractor.”

Eric Knellinger, president of US Federal Contractor Registration, credits Marianne Swager, the case manager who works with Turn Key Services of Louisiana, LLC, with helping to make this award possible. Swager, says Knellinger, demonstrated just what helps US Federal Contractor Registration stand out — it not only helps companies survive, but it also helps them thrive.
“We don’t just take a client’s money, help set them up, and turn them loose,” says Knellinger. “We walk them through every step of the contracting process, make sure they have the tools they need to succeed, and, in some cases, introduce them to procurement officers looking for the services or products that the company provides.”

Swager separately said that Turn Key’s contracting success demonstrates what a company can achieve once it is qualified to bid on and receive government contracts.

“Helping a business complete its SAM Registration is just the tip of the iceberg,” said Swager when asked about the services she provides her clients. “We don’t stop when we’ve qualified a company to contract with the government – we make sure they have the tools they need to actually win one.”
